| The
Club was founded in the summer of 1983 and started with an open invitation
to a training session on the public open space at the bottom of Silverdale
Park.
Some of those founders, along with others who joined in later years,
contributed substantially to the development of the Club, defining
the Rules by which the Club is governed and establishing a culture
of saving through Central Fund. |
| Trevor
Waterhouse and Brian Clark particularly have put in sterling work
over many years to bring the Club forward, building on the legacy
of the founders and their immediate successors, such as past Chairman
John Allen, Rob Woodhall, Terry Rowlands, Barry Evans, Steve Hardwick,
Roger Pettit, Toby Ward and Sam Hale. The
elected serving Officers of the Club, who currently run it’s
day to day affairs, are: Chairman: - Trevor Waterhouse, Vice-Chairman
& Treasurer: - Brian Coles, Secretary: - Brian Clark and Club Welfare Officer: - Martyn Lawley. |
| They
have been responsible for the further development and progress of
the Club to the position where it now has control of it’s own
ground. This means that the players who turn out for Silverdale have
a home ground with excellent facilities and private pitches which
are dedicated solely to junior football. |
